MORA i ROSELLÓ Evarist (Barcelona 1904 - 1987)

Description

Tourism poster advertising the cost of Castellón de la Plana (a province of the Valencian Community). Móra was a multitalented artist who won several national and international prizes. One of his posters (“Las Fêtes Catalanes”) was exhibited at the renowned Spanish Pavillion of the Expo Paris 1937 (as the exposition took place during the Spanish Civl War, the Pavillion attracted attention; it was set by the Republican government, precisely to draw the attention of the public opinion to the horror of the Civil War), together with Pablo Picasso's “Guernica”, Alexander Calder's “Mercury Fountain” and Joan Miró's “El Segador”. Lithograph poster printed by Armengot.
