Stunning lithograph poster featuring a woman in silent movie star style, advertising Palmolive soap. Poster artist and painter Emili Vilà worked a lot for Gaumont, Paramount and Fox; by the 20's, he was one of the most valued illustrators in France. He had the opportunity of getting to know dozens of personalities of the time: important artists (Picasso, Modigliani, Toulouse-Lautrec,...), politicians (Pétain, Foch, Poincaré,...), movie stars (Hedy Lamarr, Joan Crawford, Jean Gabin,...) and, generally speaking, Parisian high society, which was often represented in his posters. Printed by Damour, linen backed, A+ condition. Dimensions in inches: 42.5 x 31.1''.
